FLORENCE – “A CITY SIZE SHRINE TO THE RENAISSANCE”

Florence is one of the world’s most beautiful cities and a unique centre of attraction for visitors from all over the world. Florence means one thing: style. Walking around the city you will find shops selling fashionable clothes, antiques and jewellery as well as typical Florentine crafts. You can explore the stylish boutiques lined up alongside the galleries and palazzi. Few cities of comparable size can boast such a profusion and variety of high-quality goods. In Summer you can expect temperatures of up to 31 degrees centigrade and minimal rainfall.

Few cities in the world are so compact, yet packed with art and architecture with masterpieces on every turn. The city is on the banks of the Arno river in northeast Tuscany and looks as though it has changed little since the Renaissance. The narrow cobbled streets are home to palaces, chapels, fresco-decorated churches, museums holding paintings and sculptures by Botticelli and Michelangelo and much more. The entire city is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Florence might seem like an open air museum to most visitors. With 72 museums and galleries, you will have plenty to explore. Florence is also the birthplace of opera and the musical tradition continues. Music lovers flock to the city every year for festivals and performances.
