MONTPELLIER – FRANCE’S CENTRE FOR EDUCATION AND CULTURE

The beautiful city of Montpellier, the capital of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, is one of the largest university cities in France, as more than a quarter of the city’s 280,000 inhabitants are students. Montpellier offers the most beautiful historic centre with narrow picturesque streets, elegant sumptuous mansions dating back to the 16th century, shady cafes, small cosy squares and not least the most inspiring cultural life. Thanks to its countless historical treasures, the city is officially called “Villa d ‘Art”. Many street musicians and artists as well as a number of famous festivals contribute to the city’s exuberant life. The appealing warm, southern atmosphere is reflected in the daily life of the city, and it gives all visitors a unique experience.

Montpellier opens like an amphitheatre facing the beautiful Mediterranean, with its long sandy beaches and lagoons with huge collections of wild pink flamingos. Thanks to its excellent location between Provence, the Camargue, the Cevennes Mountains and the Pyrenees, Montpellier is the perfect starting point for an exciting excursion. The area around Montpellier is of course world famous for wine production, and here excellent wines are produced in all price categories.

The climate in Montpellier is nothing short of excellent. Summer lasts until the end of October, and you can even sit outside and drink coffee in the winter, as long as the sun is up in the sky. The sun shines more than 300 days a year, which is why Montpellier is the perfect destination for a language trip.

All in all, Montpellier is a wonderful destination if you want to experience the real southern French atmosphere, the finest culture and the most overwhelming nature.

THE LANGUAGE SCHOOL

The beautiful street is a pedestrian street and filled with many small shops, gourmet boutiques and typical French cafes. The language school is located directly opposite the impressive Chamber of Commerce.

The building the language school is housed in, was back in the 18th century built as a private stylish mansion. The language school offers modern teaching facilities behind the antique exterior, where there are bright and inviting classrooms with air conditioning, computers, wireless internet access, living areas and much more.

The central location of the language school means that you as a student are only a few steps away from the sunny terraces of the “Place de la Comédie”, the central square of Montpellier and its fascinating opera house.
