The Language School

The language school in Paris is situated in the Latin Quarter, one of the liveliest cultural districts in Paris, and only a few minutes walk from some of Paris’ main attractions such as the Sorbonne and the Pantheon. Students be able to live the true French lifestyle with some of Paris’ best restaurants, bars, bakeries, theatres and museums on the doorstep. There are endless ways to pass your free time, from enjoying a coffee in front of La Sorbonne or having a leisurely picnic on the bank of the River Seine. For bookworms, visit one of the best bookstores in the world on Boulevard Saint-Michel.

The school is found in a beautiful 4 story 19th century ‘mansion’ which was once home to a large Parisian university under Napolean. The school has 7 bright, modern classroom, a café and student lounge and Wi-Fi is provided in the school and accommodations.

The school is highly recognised for its level of teaching and all teachers hold a university degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language.

Accommodation Options

The language school in Paris offers various accommodation options for students:

  • Host Family: This is an ideal option for students who would like to be fully immersed into French daily life and culture. All host families will offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere and give you an immersive and authentic experience and help you with any problem you encounter during your stay. Host family homes are located a maximum of 35 – 40 minutes by public transport from the school. Single or double rooms are available and sofa beds are accepted also if of appropriate size. Bed linen and towels are provided provided and rooms are cleaned once per week. Bathrooms are shared unless a superior room with en-suite is requested.  WiFi access is provided. Options available are: Room only, bed & breakfast, 5 dinners, or half-board.
    • Room only: 4 weeks minimum stay, no meals, kitchen access to warm a dish
    • Bed & Breakfast: breakfast includes at least: tea, coffee or chocolate, milk bread, butter and jams.
    • 5 dinners: Breakfast + 5 dinners to be arranged with the family
    • Half-board: Breakfast and dinner.
  • Summer Student Residence: This option offers the student a great level of independence and the opportunity to live and socialise and relax with other students.
    • Residence 1: located a few minutes away from the Latin Quarter. The residence offer free WIFI, laundry facilities and a shared kitchen and bathroom. There is a terrace to relax on and enjoy a morning coffee or do practice your French with your friends. The rooms are singles and the bathrooms are shared with 6 students. Sheets and towels are provided.
    • Residence 2: Located on a large campus with student houses, restaurants, sports facilities, cultural centre, theatre and reception and a 15 minute journey by public transport from the school, this residence will give you the opportunity to meet students from all walks of life. Rooms are single with a private bathroom. There is a shared kitchen (dishes and kitchenware not included). Bedlinen is provided but towels are not. Wi-Fi included.  July and August only.
  • Apart-Hotels: There are various apart-hotels to choose from. Located between 25 and 40 minutes away by public transport, these offer a good budget option.
    • These are studios offering double or twin beds with a private bathroom, kitchenette, storage and office. Bedlinen and towels are provided and rooms are cleaned once per week, except bedding and towels. Not all have laundrettes on site, but they are nearby.
    • Services not included but available:  breakfast, pets and parking.
    • Please note: not all apart-hotels offer the same services. Please check when booking. 
    • Please note:  there is a tourist tax between 0,75 to 2,50 euros per night per person which is payable on site.

Support

The school offers a wide range of services to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The school offers an excellent selection of accommodation to meet your requirements: Host Family, Student Residence or Apart-Hotel. All accommodation is inspected by a school accommodation officer and is of good quality.

On your first morning of your course, the team will give you a welcome meeting. You will then be given and oral test to evaluate your level so you can be placed in the  appropriate class with students of the same level.

Both the teaching and reception staff will be on hand to help you and give you advice on any aspect of your course, accommodation or life in France to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.

Practicalities

  • Visas: If you are travelling on a UK passport, for programs up to 90 days in length, no visa is required for entry. For programs over 90 days, a visa is required. The language school will provide you with the necessary sponsorship documents to apply for the visa.

  • Flights: MyEducation will confirm your arrival airports and dates. You can choose to book your own flight to France. MyEducation can also book the flight for you through our partner travel agency. You will pay the fee for the flight to MyEducation at the time that the booking is made. Full payment required for the flight to be secured.
  • Vaccinations: We recommend that you ensure that your vaccinations are up to date for travel to France. You can find up to date information here: Travel Health Pro.
  • Insurance: All students require insurance for their trip. Insurance should cover at the lowest level: belongings, travel, personal liability and medical expenses. MyEducation can provide insurance on a monthly basis. Please speak with staff if you want details
  • Arrival Transfer: meeting on arrival at the airport is not included in the fee for the program. If you require a transfer, MyEducation can confirm a fee for the service and the details of how it is managed.
  • Emergency Support: The language school and MyEducation have an emergency number that can be contacted 24/7 for students on a program. This is for emergency situations that need urgent attention.
