Inclusions:

  • Legal sponsorship for your J1 visa – all applicants require this sponsorship in order to apply for the required visa

  • Comprehensive insurance package for the length of your placement from 3 days before and after your placement dates

Exclusions:

  • Visa fees: SEVIS ($180) paid to MyEducation (UK). Non-immigrant visa processing fee ($160), paid to Consulate – fees are subject to change by the US Embassy
  • Return flight to the USA, but assistance from a recognised travel agent can be offered
  • Costs of living in the USA
  • Insurance for cancellation of program
  • Passport fee

DS-2019 reprint: ​Applicants must enter the USA within 20 days of the date stated on their DS-2019 form. If this is not possible then ASSE will need to reissue your DS-2019 form with the correct dates in order to update SEVIS. There is a £95 fee for this service. MyEducation (UK) will work with you to choose the most suitable date for your departure.

Insurance Options

You can choose to upgrade your insurance coverage from our US sponsor for an additional £37 per month of your placement. The table below shows a comparison of what is included. MyEducation (UK) recommends that you choose to upgrade your insurance to ensure that you have full and maximum coverage while in the USA. If you choose not to take the premium insurance package, we recommend purchasing a separate insurance policy to complement the basic insurance policy from MyEducation.

Paymentprocess

Payment for the program is split into three payments.

  • 50% of fee + cost of a site visit (if required) is due after interview and acceptance by MyEducation
  • Once your application is accepted by the US sponsor then $180 SEVIS fee is due for payment
  • Final 50% of program fee is due once the DS2019 form has been issued by the sponsor
  • Please note that payments are accepted via bank transfer or credit card payment. Please note that is a transaction fee of 3.5% for all credit card payments.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation of your program must be submitted in writing and it will take effect from the date it is received in the office. Refunds will be made according to the following schedule:

  • If your application is not accepted by the sponsor then you will be refunded in full minus the cost of a site visit if it has been completed by the sponsor
  • Pre-placed applicants: if you are unsuccessful in being placed in a job then you will receive a full refund minus £210
  • Cancellation prior to the issue of the DS form – full refund minus £350
  • Cancellation after the DS form is issued and prior to first day of training – full refund minus £550 will be issued once the DS form is returned to our office
  • Failure to depart by the scheduled departure date – no refund
