Beijing - North Capital

Types of programs offered in Beijing:

Beijing (or Peking as the city formerly known) is the People's Republic of China's capital. Beijing is located in the northeastern part of the giant country. The city is filled with exciting cultural experiences, impressive buildings and is a city undergoing rapid development. As China's capital and second largest city in China (after Shanghai) you can find here more than 3,000 years of history and over 17 million inhabitants. With an area of 16,808 km2, Beijing is the political, economic and not least the cultural center for China

It is a city with a rich history and has an incredible heritage. Attractions such as the Forbidden City - the old imperial residence has been the center of Beijing for over 600 years and has been home to 24 emperors until the last of China's emperors - Puyi who was expelled in 1924.  Towns people had no access to the area in the imperial period, only the imperial family and the court had entry permit to the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City is made up of 800 buildings with a total of 9,999 rooms and is on UNESCO's world heritage list.

Another of China's impressive and magnificent sights is, of course, the Great Wall, which was built in the late 13th century to the early 16th century as a defense against raids by Mongol and Turkic tribes. The wall stretches from Beijing in the east to Jiayapasset in the west, and there were about 300,000 men to build the 8,851.8 km long wall, which consists of stones, rocks and rammed earth.

There are countless impressive, elegant, beautiful palaces, temples, gardens and walls, all of which make this Language Travel a magical adventure.
