Canada

A Magnificent Experience

A land of infinite maple forests, huge plains with numerous lakes and the Rocky Mountains' snow covered peaks - Canada is a country for people who like to explore the outdoors.

Canada is such a large country that it dominates the North American continent and is larger than the United States. Large parts of the country are uninhabited and uninhabitable, which has an influence on the Canadian mentality. The pioneers who long ago settled the country still play their part in the sculpting of daily activities and the mindset of many Canadians. Anyone who is fascinated by the outside world and natural beauty, will be right at home on an exchange in Canada.

On an exchange to Canada you can choose if you wish to live in the English or French speaking areas. If you wish to learn French then we can place you in Québec, the largest province in Canada. Québec is know for it's unique culture, history and very friendly and welcoming population. Québec's large area offers the opportunity to experience beautiful natural areas as well a cosmopolitan cities. In Québec the school ends in Year 12 and most exchange students are placed in this year level. You must have previous knowledge of French to be accepted on the French-Canada program. Included in the fee for this part of Canada, is a mandatory language and cultural arrival camp.

If you choose to be placed in English speaking Canada then you must open your mind to the vast space that this opens up to you. Placements are varied and across the country but you will be welcomed in by friendly people and shown how Canadians live their lives.

For most Canadians, the family is the centre of life. Despite it's colossal size, friendships are kept strong across the country. Every family has their "family room", where they eat their meals, chat, play games or watch television. Canadians liver very closely with nature, some using every minute to engage in outdoor activities. Whether you like to ski, walk, snowboard, sledge, or hike, you will be able to experience a Canadian way of life.
